Boomerang is the debut short film by Diarmuid Doran and was well received in Irish and European film festivals in 2019. Shot on location in Dublin and Paris Boomerang stars Mike Timms and Sofia Nilsson and is minimalist in approach with a contemporary noir style.

Shot in digital HD colour, running time is seven minutes with a music soundscape and minimal dialogue.

Boomerang has been selected for inclusion in the prolific AVA Library, a streaming provider that has been developed specifically for libraries offering a unique selection of European and international arthouse films.

AVA - We work with internationally renowned distributors and some of Europe’s best film festivals to create our film selection focusing on quality content.

It is particularly important for us to showcase European, arthouse and niche films that reflect the diversity of library users today.

Mike Timms

Mike plays the main character, a man at a turning point, ready for wherever events take him next.

Truly committed to the part Mike brought new layers to the story with his poignant attention to detail and near method style approach.

Mocici Loon

Mocici is a native Bolivian who was living on the streets of Paris at the time of shooting. He appears in Boomerang by chance when we met him on location and he agreed to be part of the film. Mocici passed his time in a church to stay warm during the winter days in Le Marais, Paris.

Sofia Nilsson

The charitable femme fatale that betrays all expectations.

Sophie’s  performance elevates the film with a twist that delivers a killer final punch.
